HuffYUV Help pweaze

Ok i took two videos converted them to HuffYUV and then. I try open with WMP and Explorer crashes, open them with Virtual dub or virtual dub mod and it crashes with some odd memory error.


/me what am I doing wrong...

are you sure you have enough memory to support running a video in huffy? A six min video can push 3 gigs in size, so it does eat up a lot of processor and memory. It could very well be that.

It would be easier to diagnose a problem if we had more information. Such as your OS, RAM, Processor, Vmem.

what version of huffyuv are you using? i heard there's a buggy version out there. you should use this one http://neuron2.net/www.math.berkeley.ed ... ffyuv.html

I had buggy version un installed it and tried the new one, same problem(did this like a week ago)


OS: Windows XP Home Edition
RAM: 768 MG
VMem: 2.00 GB
Prosessor: x86 family 6 model 10 stepping 0 AuthenticAMD ~1913 Mhz

Unless you have a godly system, attempting to play a HuffYUV file as if it were any other media file isn't going to work. You have to compress said file for distro anyways, so simply go through the video frame by frame to look for any errors then compress and play to check timing and such.

Ignore that; I jumped the gun.

But there's still a problem: it looks like you set the whole movie to encode, because your projected filesize is <b>110 GB</b>.

Just take clips of the scenes you need. Your computer will thank you.
