AVISynth scripts and the program that made it...

Post by prettysoldiersailormoon » Mon Sep 12, 2005 8:30 pm

Ok I've ripped the DVD's and made them DGIndex files and now I'm making scripts. I have the AVISynth guide. I make a script and tried to play it in Windows Media Player but it says it's not a recognized file and when I try to open the script itself (yes I saved it as a .avs file) my computer says it can't find the program that created it. What am I doing wrong this time? I installed everything in that AMVapp thing.

"the program that created it" is just typical cryptic windows lingo for a program that you can open it with. You need to open it with a text editor. Choose "select the program from a list" and choose notepad from the list. Notepad will open the avs file, allowing you to edit it.

Does Media Player say the file isn't recognized, or does the movie say it (in big red letters on a black background)?

The player itself says it won't recognize the file.

The problem you describe makes it sound like you don't have AVISynth installed, or if you do, your installation is borked.

Run the AMVapp <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... ">AVISynth tests</a> and see how you do.
