Suggestion [preview picture on video info pages]
i don't know if this has ever been suggested before, but have the admin ever though of putting in an option where when you enter a video you can put a small sized image from the video in (eg: 150x100) so that a viewer can get a general idea of what is contained in the video before downloading it? just an idea.

Well... in the case of AMVs, a picture isn't quite worth a thousand words. For all I know, that guy in your picture is constipated near a giant furnace. But, in all seriousness, even if you managed to find the perfect representation of your video in one image, it wouldn't do any more than what the genre categories do, and I also think that a 150x150 image anywhere in the video description would actually make the description less appealing. Maybe a well done "poster" ad, however, would look nice. But you can't count on people to be able to do a good job with image editing.

I think it's a neat idea, personally. Kind of like an 'avatar' for the video. I'd take advantage of that feature personally, sure.
The only consideration, in my mind, would be storage. If the admins have no problem with that, I don't think anyone would.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

personally, i like the images people use in their sigs and think that works pretty well for a promotion of the vid. i'd go with those rather then have the text interrupted by an image of what you're already gonna watch. also, i agree with Bum that it'd be an image that people have already seen from the anime.

if it were a more artistic say "poster" of the video, and people hosted it elsewhere (example: tinypic.com) and then linked it to animemusicvideos.org then i think the idea would work pretty well. Plus i agree with odian0 i quite like the banners people use in their sigs, and i generally download a music video that i see in the forums with a good banner advertising it.

This wouldn't be that hard. Just allow the img tag in the description and put some basic rules as far as size/content goes. While I like the idea I gotta wonder how useful it'd be. I strongly suspect it'd just quickly become yet another competition of who can make the 'coolest' ad rather than anything that actually tells you something about the video, kinda like how the banners have almost nothing to do with actually promoting the site anymore.
