Error in LIBMPLAYER.DLL (Premiere 6.0)

Post by VegettoEX » Sat Jul 02, 2005 5:22 pm

Fresh install of the latest AMVapp, went fine and dandy. Great looking scripts, made some nice crappy level-3 MJPEGs from them to scrub around in with Premiere.

Except:

For the visual-impaired (and for search purposes), this error reads:

Premiere has caused an error in
LIBMPLAYER.DLL.
Premiere will now close.

I'm noticing that when I open up one of these MJPEG AVIs in just regular ol' WMP (6.4), the ffdshow icon pops up down in the tray. Uhh... what if I don't want ffdshow playing it back? What if I want the actual MJPEG codec I paid for playing it back? I'm going out on a limb and assuming this might even be causing some of the problems. It's not like anything else AMVapp-related would cause this. They're just MJPEG AVI files in Premiere.

(MJPEGs are 720x480, 24 fps... Premiere 6.0 settings match... that's not even a question... they play fine in WMP 6.4, minus that loading of ffdshow, and VDubMod loads them up with no problems)

Helpful thoughts? Thank you!

First thing, LIBMPLAYER.DLL seems to be involved in FFDshow. That explains that.

Second, check your FFDshow config. I suspect you have it set to handle MJPEG, wich might explain this.

How do I go about checking the settings for it?

Here's one screen I've found... in VDubMod, going to "Video >> Compression" and looking under ffdshow...

Something in here? Or elsewhere? And where do I find it? :D

Thank yas!

Well, I have an FFDshow folder in my start menu that lets me access the configuration. Failing that, try running this to access the configuration:

Code: Select all

C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe ffdshow.ax,configure
Also, you might want to check around and make sure you don't have multiple versions of FFDshow hanging around. Don't know how you would do that offhand.

Ah, didn't notice the ffdshow in the "Programs" menu :). The lowercase threw me off :P.

Should I be changing that to "disabled" (instead of "libavcodec") next to MJPEG?

That looks like the culprit. Try it.
