1,Adobe Priemer 6.0 and up
2. Pinnacle Studios 9
3. MGI Video Wave 7

What editing things I've had used

MGI Video Wave 4 (thank god those days are over. Eventhough if you check Belldandy's Memories and back they are descent videos.)

Pinnacle 8 (mainly used for capturing never completed a video because shortly after I got Abode Priemer to edit in.)

Adobe Priemer 6.0 and After Effects 6.0
I meant Top 3

The best is Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5. In my opinion, by far the best software for video editing. If you don't know about it, then it's time for you to get taught.

eh? No you dont.
How much cheaper can you get than free?

Although I wouldn't use Windows Movie Maker 2 myself, it's really about preference. An editing program is only as great as the person using it...some of the best videos I've ever seen were made with Windows Movie Maker 2 (*looks at Arigatomina*)...it just works differently than say, Premiere.

Just don't think "big vast options galore editing program = me automatically makes good videos!" is the point I'm trying to make.

I'm assuming by "transaction" you mean "transition", and that by "fade effect" you mean "adjusting the opacity of the clips".
Most of the programs on that list can adjust opacity (and certainly all of the mid- to high-end ones).

Well, for starters, there's the command line FTP client that came with your operating system.
