You didn't ask for cheap.

all you really need is virtualdub. worked fine for me through two long tedious aggrivating AMVs :D

I'm experimenting right now with OpenVIP.
AMVs that I have made:
Berserk - The Fight Must Go On - Drama, Action, Violent, Story
Teenage Cowboy Bebop Turtles(TCBT) - Fun, Trailer, Parody

Yeah but it's OLD SKOOL man! That's like using the two VCR method, but with a computer.

I guess doing it on purpose when you don't have to is a little like pushing your car to work to save gas though.

killerwog corp: just try demos of the major programs listed in the software page. I can tell you that the majority of people here use either Movie maker, Premiere, or Vegas. Sure there are some others, but those are the biggies. The guides are pretty much written around them.

If they are too expensive look at ways to get an academic priced version or something. You picked an expensive hobby.

Top 5 editing software in my opinion

1,Adobe Priemer 6.0 and up
2. Pinnacle Studios 9
3. MGI Video Wave 7

What editing things I've had used

MGI Video Wave 4 (thank god those days are over. Eventhough if you check Belldandy's Memories and back they are descent videos.)

Pinnacle 8 (mainly used for capturing never completed a video because shortly after I got Abode Priemer to edit in.)

Adobe Priemer 6.0 and After Effects 6.0
