renders display 'noise' at the tops and bottoms

Post by Knowname » Wed Mar 30, 2005 11:36 pm

for some reason whenever I render a video out of premiere pro it has a strange line of static occasionally intruding from the top or bottom (rareley goes more than... 50 or so pixels up or down... I mean it was suggested that I just frame it than cut out the frame and the video noise with it but that's not working for me... will get to that later). Has anybody had this problem? especially evident on mpegs (cuz I'd edit in premiere, directshow ie virtual dub, premiere, any avi program doesn't seem to like anything but Huffys on my pc until I change them to mpegs, ie I can't go from Huffy to Xvid I have to go from Huffy to Mpeg to xvid... it's weird -_-) but avis have problems too, just not nearly as much. Also, about 20 seconds in every time, I get a blink in the video... it doesn't hurt anything I just have no clue where it came from or how to get rid of it! the preview and clips all look superb so it all seems to stem from ghosts in premeire pro.

The cropping problem all seems to do with aspects or something. I started with exporting my video in 4:3 aspect as seems to be default, my soarce is 720x480 though my clips are 640x480 BUT! Apparently, they still have that extra 40 pixels of info there as when I render my project at 640x480 premeire insists on keeping the 720x480 in a 640x480 'window' (if your not following I'm not suprised ><) anyway that gave me 50 pixels or so of black boarder along the top/ bottom! Well I fixed that by taking off 4:3 and using square pixels. Only thing is this makes the noise at the top/ bottom more evident, almost frustrating! so maybe I should keep it with the black lines, but the noise is still there (you see it pretty plain though your not paying attention to it) and nobody likes widescreen w/ borders anyway right?? On a side note, I tried cropping them off with TMPGenc but it gave me some dumb error about 8x8 and some such... so I thought... and thought... and thought and came up with 544x408! Well ok, I croped it down to the 616x416 that gives me full screen than resized to the needed 544x408 (tried 520x416 as well wich is 5:4 not 4:3 regardless)! But whatever I tried TMP would just ignore it! Now I know this' long and you probley didn't understand half of it but I'm out of ideas, any ideas would be nice.

My clips are Huffyuv with a weird rgba tag, why? because the guides say Premeire Pro can do YUV4:4:4 but it's nearly as wastefull as uncompressed and such (PPro is largeley unused, I have issues with the guides' view on XP too lol)... the Huffy help thing say RGBA is something like a wastefull codec as well, so I took a flying leap and guessed 1 and 1 = 3 ;p. Anyway THE CLIPS ARE FINE! I can take a clip and process it to hell in vdub, Premeire is just being the devil again with MY video!!
