You guys in the state are lucky... I need to continually look for those competitions which can be submitted online...
Living in Australia really puts a limit on the number of places that I can enter stuff in... and one of the major competitions in here is something I cannot join seeing as how I'm actually the AMV coordinator
Which reminds me, I should add my convention's AMV event to the org's competitions list.

well for Sakura-Con I ran the FTP off my own computer on my cable internet connection
I am not sure if that is what Vlad does for the 2 he runs
Tekkoshocon had a FTP and Illia has a friend who hosted their FTP on his own server. (They are closed submissions)
if you can host a FTP on your computer I say try it out, the videos end up there anyways

Yea, Acen's cordinator was worried about the amount of people that would hit his PC at once, possibly making it not reliable, but I don't think the chances of a bunch of people uploading at once is very high. Except for the few days before the actual deadline. Since at least half the regular members of this forum are all major procrastinatorsseijin_dinger wrote: if you can host a FTP on your computer I say try it out, the videos end up there anyways

LOL I think the most I had hit me at once was about 15-20 people
and yeah at times my computer crashed
I did try my best to keep up with people and work with them so that they could get uploaded
granted I have a semi weak system with only a 1.2 ghz Duron with 640 mb of PC 100 RAM
