Something I couldn't understand.

Post by Zotto » Mon Mar 14, 2005 5:08 am

Ok it's always me

First of I wanted to thank this forum's members because I resolved all my problems in amv making for now, i repeat FOR NOW  .

But there are some words you use that I still can't understand. Maybe it could be useful either to some other newbie so I put this thread in the forum.

1) What's the difference between an R1 DvD and an R2 Dvd?
2) What does it mean to modify your audio stream to match with frames?
3) I couldn't understand how to get rid of "Temporal Scanline Blending" into Absolute destiny's guide, the funny thing is that he talks about Evangelion - Pal edition (that is exactly my problem) but unfortunatly he uses Ntsc -.-.
4) If I've got pal and ntsc footage, it's better to switch to 25 fps from 23.9, 24, 29,7 or viceversa?
5) I'd like to know if someone can tell me how to match Evangelion tv series with EoE and D&R via avisynth (considering in my case that the first one is Pal, and the second is Ntsc), I guess it's probably that someone encountered this problem.

I guess It's all. thank you

1 - http://www.laserrot.com/info/lrinfo/dvdmap.html

2 - To make sure your audio and video are synced properly when exported as they look to be in the timeline. I'm guessing but, its an educated guess

4 - I'm no hardcore video nut, but I'd say stay with 25fps. Its a nice, "round" number that doesnt seem to have any problems with any video editors like 29.98 or something like that.

A few bits and a bunch of inane guidelines from the DVD CCA that are often ignored by region-free firmware updates.

3) is harder to deal with. Blending, in general, is hard to deal with. If you play around with some of the unblending filters in the guide it'll start to make some sense.
