changing software

Post by batmanMG » Thu Mar 03, 2005 3:45 pm

A month ago I downloaded the trial version of adobe premier and started working on a new amv. After many long nights the vid nears completion, then the trial ran out. Is there any way to continue the project with another program, or do anything with what i worked on. I don't have much to spend so getting premier pro is out, but is there any less expensive, much less expensive version of premier or any software that could help me.
Thanks for any replies.

I'm looking for a way to continue my project, while it is more afordable, it won't support the file format from pro 1.5 You also can't use avi synth script files with it. If anyone knows of a program that supports .prproj files i would appreciate their input.

It won't?

Wow, I wonder why on earth they'd make a decision like that. That sucks.

It reinforces the caste system that comes about as a consequence of using proprietary software. Why in the world would you have a lower-grade product be able to interact with a higher-grade product?

Can't you just reinstall the test version and delete the registry value that says it was there before, or is it more complicated than that?

Good luck finding the value in question, there's a functionally unlimited number of places it could be hidden.

hmmm flexability of consumer choices. Elements is for the technologicly impared. Its a simplified version of Pro for ease of use. It is definitely not for the financialy impaired. The poor don't need a simpler program just a cheaper one. For them, if there is no compatability with upgraded versions such as pro or the older versions, then there's nothing to keep me as a customer. They will then look elsware for the best bang for their buck and Elements isn't it. When they find that product and become familiar with it, then when they can afford an upgraded version, they will likely buy it from the same line.
if elements was compatable with Pro, I would be more likely to buy it, seeing that once I can afford Pro I will be able to continue and improve uppon my work.
Its a long explanation but thats why you make a basic version of a product, this does not mean outdated version, compatable with the advanced version.
You are right in that you shouldn't make an outdated version compatable with the newer one.

You're not thinking like an Adobe corporate droid.
