Attempting to rip audio from an OGM video file.

Post by angelx03 » Wed Mar 02, 2005 1:15 am

Ok, like the title says, I'm trying to extract the audio off that type of video file using VirtualDubMod through the Streams dialog box. But for some reason, there's always an error that says, "ACM reported error on audio decompress (b)." Any idea of what should I do to remedy this situation?

Well, I've never run across that particular error, but depending on the format of the audio, you may not be able to use VDubMod.

Try OGMDemuxer. This program completely deconstructs the OGM, but if the audio is in AC3 format, it gets a little tricky, since it can't handle that properly. OGMDemuxer is to handle OGM files with AAC audio.

If OGMDemuxer doesn't work, use MKVToolNix to transfer the OGM's streams into a Matroska container and then use VDubMod (if the audio is in MP3, Vorbis, or AC3 format) or MKVExtract (MKVExtract is needed for AAC formatted audio) to seperate the streams.
