Seriously...this band sounds like Melt-Banana with woodwinds thrown in.

Pure genius. It reminds me a lot of Erase Errata aside from the singing. The "woodwinds" sound like manipulated bass sax, or bassoon.

You think? I was kinda thinking oboe, but then I'm not great at identifying woodwinds by sound alone.

It's too low to be an oboe unless they did some serious manipulations to the recording (which I'm not putting past them). But the bassoon and the oboe are both double-reed instruments so they sound similar.

Bass sax I've heard once or twice, I think on a They Might Be Giants song, and it's a really low sound that honestly has no real place in most music. Plus the thing weight about 100lbs and cost something like $15,000.
