Codec not found
I just finished my source clips and have loaded them into premiere but when i try to preview or export what ive got so far (not finalizing so its still with the PICVideo codec) i get an error saying "An error occurred while making the movie. Codec not found." I click ok and it says "An error occurred. Error writing file (disk full?)." Like i said, i just started so i dont mind starting over a few steps. Thanks!

The "Error writing file (disk full?)" message usually happens when you're trying to export to the same hard drive that your .avs files are in. I've never heard of it happening when you are just previewing. Since the disk is trying to read and write large files at the same time, it is very prone to errors. If you happen to have more than one HD in your PC, by all means make use of them and export to a different one.
If you don't... just keep trying for some time, and with any luck it'll export before you get mad and throw the PC out the window. It worked for me
If that doesn't solve it, check if you have slowed down you footage to less than 10% somewhere along the timeline. Avisynth doesn't like such slow speed, and might crash every once in a while. Try making an avi clip of this particular passage and slow it as much as you want.
If that doesn't solve it... well, good luck my friend

I tried exporting to my other hard drive but I got the same error. There are no effects or video alterations that could be doing this - I tried to a export a project with only 1 clip, normal speed, no effects whatsoever but it still said Codec Not Found. I should also mention that I re-imported my source footage so the preview is working now but the export won't.

Ok. Let's try something else:
1) Make a different project with a brand new Avisynth file (if possible, even a brand new DGIndex file) and see if it works. It probably won't, but let's just eliminate the possibilities.
2) Uninstall any copies of PICVideo in your PC. Download it again from the official website here. Install it again, and since you're messing with this stuff anyway, reinstall Premiere. Now this should work. If it does not...
I don't have a clue
Any extra help here, please?

Believe it or not I've actually already tried all that, thanks anyway though. I think it might, and am hoping it is, a problem that occurred during premiere's installation or something early on cuz I'm just gonna re-install my os(I know this sounds kinda extreme but its the only way to make sure I can make a fresh start with a problem free system). I'm just hoping that the error wont come up again. Until then though if anyone knows what the problem is/was/may-be-again...

you problem can also happen when you have the files you try to work with open at he same time, no matter with which player. It can also be if there is a media program running, so don't hear music or such whilst editing.
You also can check the options and look if the codec's you use to compile or export are the same you use to play the stuff. Often such errors come if this things differ.
If that doesn't help, better download a couple of new codecs. DIVX and such, they are pretty useful to compile.
