Premiere 6.5 freezing up more than WMM

Everytime i am cutting clips up on the timeline and shortening them Premiere constantly freezes up. On other times it freezes while im rendering the video. I think it may be a codec error, but i dont know. It is basically freezing up more than ive ever seen WMM 2.0 freeze. I currently have 0 viruses and 0 spyware, my PC is in tip top shape.

Im currently using Huffyuv 2.1.1 - CCESP Patch v0.2.5, and of course wav's for the audio. Does anyone know whats wrong?

Ive also reinstalled Premiere btw...and i just built this PC, so it has plenty of RAM and processor speed.

::grasping at straws:: How long are the HuffYUV encoded clips you're importing... I use pro 1.5, but if i'm importing very large clips i noticed the program hangs or even freezes, it could be that...

well the clips are a 2 gigs each, and thats never given me a problem before.
