What anime could the world do without?
The world would be better off if "Tokyo pig" never went to the drawing boards. That has to be the worst anime I have ever saw.

I'm just guessing here, but despite our obsession with anime, I'm positive we could live without any of it ever existing. I mean look at Znarfbax, it was so popular, but when I eliminated it from existance, no one knew, or even cared about Znarfbax. (and it was so popular too...)
But seriously, I think that there is always going to be someone who hates/loves the same anime. It's all in your opinion. I think it's like anything else, some people won't like a show, while others might. But just imagine, how much hardwork and care had to be put into every anime.
So, I don't have any that come to mind, but I felt that you should know...
(Poor Znarfbax....

Is that what happened to Znarfbax? I still miss that show. Anyone wanna read my Znarfbax fanfics? :D
I'd say, to go along the theme of Kimera (ie. tapes I bought for a dollar and still felt ripped off after watching), that Compiler was really an unnecessary project for whatever studio pinched that one out. There aren't many anime that I could see half of and be unwilling to finish, especially when the whole thing is only four hours, but I still haven't unwrapped the second tape of Compiler.
The closest thing to a redeeming quality was their willingness to put every episode in a different genre, but unfortunately that totally derailed any long-term characterization and was just generally distracting. Not to mention it had some of the worst material of each genre, and the comedy was only funny for moments (probably much funnier if you're from Tokyo and understand all the jokes about Osaka).

Hey, I watched Goku: Midnight Eye. There was always somethin' about that exotic dancer with the handlebars...
I could do without DBZ and Yu-Gi-Oh! personally; it would raise the collective IQ of anime fandom several points. I'm really interested in the proposed experiment to edit down a story arc of DBZ by removing the pointless power-ups and reaction shots in order to see how much shorter it is.
