quality of ripping

ive looked at all those pages and stuff about ripping a dvd..i use dvd decrypter myself..but one thing bothers me..is howcan i get really good quality..i use gordian knot. dvd decrypter and then dvd2avi..but the quaity is all liny and stuf can someone tell me how to make it better??

Do you know about <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... rlacing</a> and how to remove it <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... >before</a> (or <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... ">after</a>) editing?

Is there any image quality lost when you display (interlaced converted to progressive) video on an interlaced monitor/TV?
