<A HREF=http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/>Don't convert VOBs directly to AVIs; read this.</A>
"If someone feels the need to 'express' himself or herself with a huge graphical 'singature' that has nothing to do with anything, that person should reevaluate his or her reasons for needing said form of expression, possibly with the help of a licensed mental health practitioner."

DONT BE AFRAID TO BREAK THE RULES AND TYR THINGS WHICH PEOPLE WARN AGAINST. EXPERIMENTATION IS A VERY GOOD THING.

:P

Now, the easiest free way to do it would iether be through dvd2avi or vdubmod which you can get from here . You can also use DVDx which can convert a whole dvd to avi without needing to rip the vob files to your hard disk first.

This, of course, applies mainly to artistic things.

Not technical ones.

I was going to mention VirtualDubMod; the only problem with doing things that way rather than through DVD2AVI and AVISynth is that you don't get to use AVISynth's filters and have to settle for VDubMod's.

And I've heard that, in particular, VDubMod's IVTC and deinterlacing capabilities aren't as good as AVISynth's, an important consideration for someone like me who always tries to edit progressive if possible.
