Directions
Now, TWC2 is looking for staff.
This involves a variety of positions. There's regular boring staff(Boring to me anyway) and then there's AMV Staff, for their VAT room.
I'll divide this into sections for easy viewing. Go me.
REGULAR STAFFING
[taken from staffing page.]
Techwood Con is offering free weekend passes to the convention in exchange for working part of the con as a staffer. Available positions include watching over one of the gaming rooms, setup, takedown, events, registration, "Con Ops", security, and gopher.
There will be two staff meetings before the convention that staffers must attend. Topics will include the overall con schedule, assigning people to specific jobs and time slots, and legal, safety, and other procedural guidelines. Two mandatory staff meetings will take place. We will keep these meetings brief, but staffers must attend both so that the management knows how many people we have for each job and in which time slots.
If you are interested in volunteering at Techwood Con, e-mail[ staffing@techwoodcon.com ] our head staffer. Act now to ensure that you will get your free weekend pass to Techwood Con!
AMV VAT STAFF
Last year's VAT at TWC was very sad. They had a laptop, a projection screen, and Animix. That was about it.
They took whatever students/fans had downloaded and showed them on the pojection screen if they thought it was good or cool. There was no AMV Contest.
TWC would like AMVers, who know what they're doing, to help set up a good VAT for TWC2. They really like AMVs, and they want to give our works some justice!
I am not sure what the tech requirements are(If you have to bring your own equipment or if they can get it for you) but, in the words of a forum head:
You'll need to get in touch with the head staffer at staffing@techwood.comwberry wrote:If you want to run a panel, great. If you want to run an AMV contest, awesome.
The VAT staff is basically just panels, and TWC2 is really interested in AMV Panels. It doesn't really matter if you're a big name or not, I mean hell. They offered me a panel.

AMV CONTEST
So basically, if you want to run an AMV contest and have any idea of what you are doing, please contact Wberry.wberry wrote:I think it would ultra-cool to have a Techwood Con AMV contest built from the ground up by people who really know the art form well. Who knows what new and cool things would come out of it?
E-mail me (see profile) and we'll chat some more about it over the next few weeks. I will ping our Anime programming director Simon Li as well about scheduling, use of equipment, and so forth.
You can get in touch with him through me, by writing your letter here and I'll paste it as an email to him, or you can Sign up on the TWC forum and email him yourself.
I don't know what wberry's email is, since it happens to be hidden and integrated into the forum somehow. Sorry about that. ><;
So anyone who is intrested in any of this, please help post here, spread the word, and help out!
