Anyone able to help with 3DSmax 6 for my video intro?

I am trying to create a stargate for the logo of one of my studios. but i am having trouble with crafting/textureing the stargate. anyone able to help me in this area? I am fairly new to the programa s you can no doubt tell by this question, also if you know any good tutorials for modeling that would be a great help. thnx for your time and sorry if the mods don't feel this belongs here i just thought this was the most suited place.
