Pinnacle 8 audio capture problem

Post by SQ » Mon Jul 12, 2004 4:07 pm

Okay, someone on a different forum I go to is having a problem capturing his audio in Pinnacle 8.

here is the thread.

I am pretty sure his cables are hooked up right, and his master volume settings are good as far as I can tell, so I am almost positive it's something wrong with Pinnacle itself.

However I'm not familiar with Pinnacle at all and so I was hoping someone here who was could help this guy out.

Just post here and I'll get the message to him, or, I believe you can post as a guest on those forums.

Thanks in advance.

From what I read, I would suggest that that person use the AIW card. But the trick is that they have to install the Multimedia Center that it comes with. From that, they can use the purple input box. Make sure that its setup like it says in the manual though. Nowadays, the AIW is pretty descent when it comes to capturing stuff.

With the Pinnacle card, maybe using a different program to capture the video, VirtualDub has a "capture avi" function under the "file" menu.

iv never used pinical. but tell him/her to make sure all the connections are secure and that the line out from the captuer card is in the line in on the pc audio card. then tell them to make sure none of the settings are muted in the master controls and to select the line in as the chosen input for the card. then make sure all the drivers are installed and if that dont work tell them to try ati mm center or vdub to capture it.
