It means your editing a divx file

I think I have seen some similar issues when I was decoding material with the Divx decoder. Use ffdshow and there shouldn't be any problems.

Thnx for the suggestions. :) I hope that ffdshow helps fix the problem. I know almost everything there is to know about deinterlacing and all, but I have no idea what the hell this is, and whats the name for this type of thing anyways? Id like to do some research about it. Thnx^_^

Ok I now know this is caused by using Divx, but can someone tell me what its called when this happens, or is there no name for it?

If he has never had a problem, then there should be a way of fixing this sort of thing, instead of just throwing out the option of using Divx.

It just comes from editing with such a lossy codec. You could, however, try reprecessing the source into something that doesn't do interframe compression (which is likely what is screwing things up).

The blocks are called "artifacts".
Another pointless post!

Everyone has helped out allot. Making this thread has helped me figure out the main source of the problem. Now I don't have to redo my project in vegas, since ive fixed the problem. :)

If the damage isn't too bad what you can do is open up the clip in VirtualDub, and then copy the source frame to the clipboard, save as a bitmap, import into yer editing program and splice it in over the bad part. Coincidentaly, I've found that you still get artifacts even when you convert into say Huffyuv. Someone else mentioned something about ffdshow, not sure about that as I haven't tried it.
