Full Metal Alchemist Licensed

Post by rubyeye » Tue May 11, 2004 12:37 pm

(06:48 AM EST): According to the PS2 site on IGN, FUNimation announced Full Metal Alchemist at E3 this week. "Funimation will handle distributing the Fullmetal Alchemist cartoon in North America -- a cartoon that has already sold 51 episodes to Cartoon Network for an October air date." According to those who were at the conference, there has been no mention of which flavor of Cartoon Network it'll be on (Adult Swim or Toonami) while the disc release is apparently slated for January 2005 in the now becoming traditional method for FUNimation of the single disc and starter kit method.
   FUCK!!! Just when it was getting good.  No more IZUMI!! Like hell I'm going to wait a whole freakin' year to continue where I left off. As somebody else mentioned on another board.....somebody will continue to fansub it. I for one am still going to grab the raws - even if I don't (completely) understand what's going on, I can still see it.

Ah, well. At least it's licensed......like that's a big surprise.

angel u dumby i was just funimation bashing in another thread and u were telling me how bashing is getting old. make up ur mind u nub n a half. and for u sonchou will continue subbing the episode s for us people who love FMA and would absoulutely hate watching a dubbed version, let alone funimation and especialy the fact that its gunna be on cartoon network. just think of how many flaming idiots will be created when it hits tv. theres already a thousand fagets trying to bring trigun back to life which was fun in 1999 n 2000 now is gay and all these nubs love it. and like ive said many time those of you who cant wait for dubbed u will never see the greatness of the series because fore xamople they will cut out the entire episode of number 7 and most likely change the wonderful ost and opening endings too gay american rap songs and other stupid noises. so when the noobs are born i will just hate on them and make fun of them when they say something like ed and al arent brothers there just childhood friends. :Laughs: maybe this is for the better ill have more nubs to make fun of. in any case this license sucks royaly.
shinji: im so fucked up

Anyway, after the good job funi did on Fruits Basket I'm hoping it'll come out nice.

It's called "someone is pissed off about not being able to watch FMA as fast and as free as possible."

Only seen the first episode of Fruits Basket, but I know enough Japanese to know they added text to the subs that wasn't originally there...

:? But eh. I'll let it slide, since they're getting better.

Need to watch more anime...
Another pointless post!

Can you give me an example of when they added in stuff? I was just curious... It seemed to be they were only being too literal at times, but didn't actually add in any meaning that wasn't evident in the original dialogue.
