Did you set the output format as ES (Audio only) ?

No I have tried it at both ES (audio + Video); and System (audio + video) and I get no video either way. I have gone through the "wizard" and used the basic settings for NTSC and NTSC FILM for video-Cd. No matter what I do i just don't get any video.

Check what your settings for export are in Premiere.

Assuming the problem could be TMPGEnc unable to handle the .avi properly, so try this solution.

In TMPGEnc,

1. Click on Option -> Environmental setting...
2. Click on the tab "VFAPI plug-in"
3. Right-click on the "DirectShow Multimedia File Reader" and increase to the highest priority.
4. Open the video source and convert the first few seconds to mpg.

If you still get blank video, repeat from step-3 and select "AVI VFW compatibility Reader" instead.

Wow! thanks a lot Eek. That made it work first time and i got good quality video with minimal size. Just out of curiosity what exactly was it that you had me do. I'd rather know what it is I did so that I don't stay a complete newb to video encoding forever.
