Premiere thingy

Will someone explain that. Sorry if it has been said before. Sometimes I will see new videos in the download section and the date on them is like 3 months old. Why are they just now popping up. And also, I see some that are dated for like next week.

What's with all these dates?

The "new <b>downloads</b>" section is for videos that have just <i>been made downloadable</i> in the past 2 days. If a video premieres at a con and then isn't made downloadable for a while after that (a certain subtitled CardCaptor Sakura vid from 2003 comes to mind...

), then yes, the premiere date will be rather old in comparison to when it shows up on the "new downloads" list.

However, there shouldn't be any that are dated in the future. The premiere date is supposed to indicate when the video was either first played in public OR first made available for download, whichever comes first.

I've been seeing them for 2-3 days now. But they just disappeared (showing the premiere at like 5-8-2004). But they are still mixed up. Not as much as earlier.

Hey odin_mage,

The "premiere date" and "date available" are two different things. A video may premiere at an anime convention and then be made available days or weeks afterwards. The "new downloads" is a list of videos ordered by "date available", not "premiere date".
