video faster since compression?

Post by sinaj » Wed Apr 21, 2004 9:58 pm

Took my file thru first pass compression using virtual dub following the guide. After first pass (using Xvid) I followed the instructions on how to resize and make the second pass. I completed that step and moved on to compression the audio using LAME MP3.

That seemed to go well too, so I nervously clicked on my final product to watch it and noticed the video is out of sync with the music. It appears to me that during the muxing (or whatever it's called) where I "joined" the video to the audio it shrunk the video into the frame of the song. (At the end of the music, my video fades into darkness and the credits appear.)

This is my first attempt at a video, and I've searched everywhere I could think of to see what I was doing wrong or how to prevent that.

How do I set the merging of video and audio so the audio starts at the same time but doesn't "run to meet" the end of the video?

Thanks in advance!

nm

I was 2 secs away from answering my own question.
It was all in the interleaving. I am now the proud owner of my first amv.
And I can tell these are going to be sooooo deliciously addicting, hehe.
