Big O? explain please

Post by inuyashaguru » Sat Apr 10, 2004 1:51 am

i started wataching big o before xmas on AS and kinda got the jist of it until it started to dwindle down and then they restarted it afer xmas and i thought awesome i'll get it this time and i started to watch it and then my dedication dwindled as i became more and more confused.

i understand it's about the loss of memories forty years ago and so on and so forth i unerstand parts but i think i need help putting it together, if anyone can explain. i kinda liked it but then i jsut got confused at parts and sorta stopped caring lol, but i'd like to understand it cuz i really did like it or is it jsut really bad anime and not worth the viewing time i gave it? lol

See Neon Genesis Evangelion... and you'll see where this show got its inspiration. The ending in my opinion was more vague and more abrupt than Eva's though people will probably disagree.

Personally I think Big O was good in parts, but overall it failed--which doesn't mean its bad, just that I wouldn't necessarily recommend it as a must see anime. I think for me at least, this was because the tempo and flow of the series was very erratic and it tried to do this kind of detective story (I mean in terms of style and flow) mixed in with hints of strange philosophy, but the dialogue wasn't able to help it do this successfully... it seemed that since no one really knew what was going on (I mean the characters) that no one could realy figure out where what began...
