Hello There
Hi guys and galz,
Im not sure if this is the right place, so firstly sorry. But since I read it wil lget moved to the rihgt place and not deleted (you lovely people) i'll continue.
My name is Jamie, I live in the UK, and i'm 18. This topic is sorta like a mini intor to me, and an advert in a way. I've been interested in anime for ever, the first one I saw was the original English dub on Laputa, (I think the new version by disney with James Van Der Beek is not as good)
And ive massed a huge anime collection, and a pretty wide knowledge on anime, as much sd you can get over here, since its not as popular as it is in places like Canada and the States. OK so, thast me I guess, and my ineterests, although a list of favourite animes may be required? Eva, Spirited Away, Laputa, Macross, Samurai X, Rei Earth, DBZ, the list is endless I suppose, I've tried to see atleast one episode of any anime i've ever heard of.
And the other part, the advert part, I recon I have a few good ideas for AMVs and the likewise, but I really havent had the time to teach myself how to use some of these programs, well, mostly any really, as I'm currently doing the big life dependant exams and all, but once i've done these, I really wanna give AMV making a shot, so I was wondering if there is anybody out there willing to take a lowly little newbie under their wings and teach them the basics?

Welcome!
Have you read the guides around here? Those are pretty helpful if you take your time to digest them and all. Also, be sure to check out relevant sections of the forum for advice on editing.
I suggest you look around at those, and ask questions if something is unclear. There's also a number of helpful experienced editors, so just look out for them if you're looking for advice...

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

The standard answer around here to something like this is "R<a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... >EADFAG</a>".mega_jamie wrote:And the other part, the advert part, I recon I have a few good ideas for AMVs and the like, but I really havent had the time to teach myself how to use some of these programs, well, mostly any really, as I'm currently doing the big life dependant exams and all, but once i've done these, I really wanna give AMV making a shot, so I was wondering if there is anybody out there willing to take a lowly little newbie under their wings and teach them the basics?
But seriously, the read is well worth it. It's a very good way to get a working knowledge of the technical stuff required to make AMVs. You won't be sorry. I speak from experience.
You might also want to see if any production groups are recruiting.

Welcome. Enjoy your stay, but watch out for the spammers.
The best way to learn is by experience. Technical question can be asked in the help forums, and ideas can be found in the suggestions forum. If you want to see how something works in practice, take a vido that uses it. Then watch it far more than is good for you. Picking videos apart can teach you a lot.
On a different note, being polit will get you quite a ways, but you already seem to have mastered that.
