Resuming Local Downloads...

Post by [flakmnky] » Sun Mar 28, 2004 4:30 am

Okay I know there are already a lot of threads about this but I just wanted to start a new one since I was just disconnected after downloading 92% of a 50meg vid. Phade if you're reading this I was wondering if you could implement a way to detect download accelerators or managers or whatever and see if they are you know accelerating the download by downloading more than one part at the same time. If they are you could stop them. If they're not (Download Accelerator Plus 7 [the one I use] could be set to download normally with resume) you could allow. I just don't like switching browsers or pushing my luck by downloading another 50meg vid on a fragile (not to mention slow) 56k (supposedly) connection. If anybody out there could provide another way to resume downloads thanks in advance if you could post it here.

Oh yeah. One more thing...Phade this is absolutely one of the coolest anime sites out there. I'd be willing to donate but it's just that my currency is not in dollars. Keep up the good work! :)

Do a search on the forums on ways to resume, this has been discussed about 5-10 times (that I'm aware of).

But otherwise, FireFox, Opera, sometimes IE (when it's not being used wrongly, for instance: downloading an AMV and then your internet goes poof and IE freezes).

Download accelorators won't work on Local mainly because all videos use the same PHP file that Phade coded specifically for local downloads. There is absolutely no way to get a local AMV on a download accelorator yet, no matter how bad you want it or how often you use it. It all takes time...
