Is NHMK'S Images Video underrated ?

I'm sorry, but I haven't been on the forums a lot, but I was wondering if anyone actually saw the video. The video was really good and unique. usually, unique videos doesn't fare well, but the way Images portrays actual images of last exile in the *action* scenes seem so well made, that I can't help but wonder why not many people out there actually talked about the video. But hey, its probably me_

I think anything that doesn't conform to "whats popular" will end up underrated. Face it, a slow and boring video like thatisn't going to rank as high as something like Eternal Damnation. A lot of people, me included, just don't really enjoy slow videos like that. I mean it's well edited and artistic and all, but its boring as hell after the first time. It's sorta like some good movies like lord of the rings. I mean they are excellant movies, but I'll be damned if I'm gunna sit through them for a 2nd time...

What are you basing this on? Just because people don't pimp it out in every single thread doesn't mean it's underrated.

I don't see many videos mentioned unless it's for a specific purpose (i.e. the effects/comedy threads). I've seen plenty of worthy videos that get very little mention in the forums. But if you look at Fluxy's announcement thread, you'd see that it did get quite a bit of respect.

And I did think it was boring, though very well done.

I can understand that.
I don't watch it too much myself but when I do the scene selection/sync gives me goosebumps. Fluxmeister edited that song exactly as I thought it should. I suppose that is why I like it so much... that and Coldplay is my 2nd favorite band

It's simply not the kind of video that I find enjoyable, thats all.
Not that I have some agenda against it or anything. I have quite a few slow serious vids myself, and they dont get NEARLY as much recogntion as the ones that conform to popularity ideals. And I totally understand why they dont.
See, something that is "popular" has elements that make it appeal to just about anyone. Something serious like this simply doesnt appeal to such a broad audience. Why? Because it's not fun.

Its not "Pretty", flashy, and flying at you.. it isnt euwhoria.. so it cant be popular.. (the cold sad truth)
