A Statement on Items of Great Importance
[MOD: (Score:-1, Flamebait)]
Lately, I have been watching all of you people involve yourselves in this insipid elitism debate. For a time it amused me to watch you all quibble on the subject of elitism and get angry when others suggest that they are better than you for some reason. This highly amuses me because you have all failed to grasp one simple concept.
Each and every one of you is involved in a hobby that amounts to nothing.
You quibble over opinions and conjectures based around your childish hobby of placing cartoons in synch with music, never realising the utter banality of your undertakings. The hobby you worship amounts to nothing more than taking children's programing and ensuring it times well with music you found floating around the etheric wasteland of radio and television. Entertaining though it may be, an interesting diversion from more important pursuits in life, it amounts to nothing more than a way to waste time that could be better spent on more vital matters, such as school or a job (not that most of you can even understand such concepts, chained as you are to your computers and televisions).
I laugh at you all, for you have failed to grasp the very basic uselessness and futility of what this entire website represents. Continue with your petty squabbling and bickering and accusing people of daring to think themselves your betters (God forbid!!). I shall continue to laugh at the rampaging idiocy you spew from behind your keyboards with acne infested ham-fists, fueled by your prepubescent maldeveloped minds and utter lack of any social graces, both in real life and on this insipid internet forum.
May your catigrl-hentai wallscrolls keep you company long into the night.

I see someone is a little ticked/depressed.

Good rant though, and I can sympathize with some of your points.
Personally, whichever way you look at it - the futility of our hobby doesn't bother me, and shouldn't really bother anyone.
At least with my personal approach, life is futile. Forget art - that's so futile that it's bound to fail on nearly every level. And yet, people do it.
And I'm glad they keep doing it all, over and over. AMV's included.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

well that was really cheery , calling anime childerns cartoons
on most circle mat get you a slug to the face.... However,
your right it dosn't amount anything, but nothing does.....
So, stop bitching about some fourms complants and giving
your own theories of truth. Becuase in the end where all
worthless, you bitching makes it worse and get back to your
more important things of life and leave other people
the hell outta of it.

I wouldn't say editing "amounts to nothing." I pretty much treat it like an art form by now, and I think we edit for the same reasons we draw, write music, play music, or dance. It's not a waste of time. At least if we edit for our own enjoyment and not for other's approval, we're expressing ourselves and enjoying ourselves. Would you say drawing fan art or writing fan fiction is a waste of time?
And besides, as John Lennon said, "Time you enjoy wasting, is not wasted."
But yes, I can sort of see what you mean by the elitism.

I agree with silver_moon. Hence why its called a hobby. Most hobbys realy don't get you anywhere in life except enjoyment, and life without some form of enjoyment would be uterly boring. so it doesn't completely amount to nothing. Also if you plan to be a profesional artist in this area, it could actually give you some very valuable skills and experience to use on the job force, IF you are persuing that avenue.
I don't know about elitism... most of the good AMV creators are usually overly critical of their own amvs.... But I could care less..., if its good, I'll watch it, Rave about it in my opinion, and add it to my playlist.

I guess you guys don't know Chaos Angel very well.
Anyway, hobbies are productive for a lot of people. Because they often utilize talents or develop creative thinking, both of which will help most people if they choose to pursue a career that involves anything other than purely physical labor.
