Viewing PMs

Post by Anime Jedi » Thu Mar 18, 2004 2:11 pm

I just want to suggest perhaps an easier fashion to quickly view the next or previous Private Message one may have in their inbox, save box or anything like that. Nothing too elaborate, but something like the small links at the top right of the thread. You know, "view previous topic" or "view next topic", except for PMs. I figure it's an option which could be useful.

It's possible but I dont know how high priority it is.
Does that statement apply here too? (Insert a witty/sarcastic comment here) :?

I like the idea, but also am afraid of how hard it might be for Phade to code it.

and I know I am probably guilty of not taking this advice but

I think that people (myself included) should spend time at phpbb.com's forums and mod area so we know what type of hassle we might be giving Phade if he takes our forum suggestions

The thing is, there's not really that many people who do coding for the site and Phade is an incredibly busy guy. He doesn't have much time to develop things like this and generally only works on things that will make a significant improvement to the site.

AD thats why I suggested that site, on their message board you can request possible mods as well as a mod that is suggested might already exist (Im gonna shut up now)

I know, but we can't just mod the forum software we use here because it's already heavily modded in order to intergrate it with the video database.

Well, we can use mods but they can easily muck up things that are already implemented.

Good Point

I am unfortunately having to re-mod my whole Message Board and I forgot how much of a PAIN it is

You know, I'd be happy to help out from a coding point of view. I know just about every programming language that exists, and I have done more than my share of PHP development.

The only reason I didn't sign up for it was because I read a post from Phade a while back saying that the call for programmers was on hold indefinitely.

So there it is... some help if you want it.
