EVA QUESTION!

Hi, well this is my first post in this forum ; i been checking the forum for a few months now but i was afraid to post cause i didnt wanna get FLAMED!

,lol

anyways , i havent watch all the episodes of eva , so there is something that i want to know about series

i have noticed that shinjis mother dies , and i heard that his mother's soul becomes the soul of his eva thats one of the reasons that i think that he syncronization with the eva is amazing . i have also noticed that in the death & rebirth movie , asuka found out after she woke up from the "coma" that her mother's soul was on her EVA also.

so my question is : Did NERV killed both persons so that there souls become the unit - 01 and 02 soul or AT field ? Did NERV cause both deaths , or is just a coincidence?

Actually, they both died during test synch's in their respective eva's.

Ok

Let me just go over this...

1) The EVAs, while being biological, have computer "brains". It was explained in the episode where they talk about the MAGI computers that the software uses an imprint from a human mind for the basis of its operating system.

2) EVA Unit 00 has an imprint of Ritsuko's mother... who also was the imprint for the MAGI themselves. Likewise, Asuka's mother was the imprint for EVA Unit 02. Unit 01 was supposed to be an imprint of Shinji's mother, but somehow, Shinji's mother was "absorbed" into the EVA. She was turned into the fluid (as Shinji was in that one episode) and was a living soul in EVA 01 (and so technically, she isn't dead.) It is because Unit 01 has a living soul that it can move without the plug... and why Shinji has such a high synch... and not that when Shinji is unconcious, the soul takes over the EVA and the EVA acts like an animal defending its young. We know Shinji's mother was turned to fluid, because in the episode where Shinji is turned to fluid, Ritsuko points out that this happened once before.

3) Asuka's mother goes crazy after the imprinting... perhaps because of the imprinting... or perhaps because she learned too much of what was happening. She kills herself (and the doll, whom she believes is Asuka). Asuka's father marries another woman who is quite resentful of Asuka. In the movie (which I am not fond of), Asuka senses her mother's presence in EVA 02, which allows her to synch up[ again... but EVA 02 can never reach the powers of EVA 01, because it still is a computer imprint and not the living soul of Asuka's mother.

You sure it was just an imprint? I was under the impression that Asukas Mother and Ritsuko's mother actually TRIED synching with the Eva's and something just went wrong and poof, part of them were absorbed.

Ritsuko's mother is in Eva 00? Huh I always thought it was Rei. Suppose that explains why it tried to kill both Rei and Gendo though.

Well... there is a difference. I mean, not to be a pain or anything, but the fact that she is a living soul inside the EVA matters a great deal to the plot.

Gendo shows concern about EVA 01 because Yui's soul is still in there.

Remember the facts - There was no body.
They have been working on a plan on how to reconstruct the body from the LCL fluid (a technique they actually used to restore Shinji)... but who do you think those plans were for? Obviously, they were for Yui.

They explain the imprinting when they explain the MAGI computers.

However... when EVA 00 goes Berserk, I think it digs out primal-animal-energy from the mind of the imprinted person. I think it acts on the imprinted hatred and rage of Ritsuko's mother - look at its targets for attack... It tries to kill Rei, it tries to kill Gendo and it tries to kill Ritsuko.

However, I never saw anything in the TV show to indicate to me that there was more in Units 00 and 02 that there was anything more than an imprint.

All the kids in Shinji's class were possible EVA pilots.

Chances are they were already imprints of each of their mothers.

(I would loved to have seen the Class Rep in a Plug Suit!! That would have been funny!)
