Bug: "OOOOOOOO" = "o"

When someone types more than eight Os in succession then it converts it down to a single lower case O. This is not the case with Xs though. Does PHPbb have it out for Os or maybe tic-tac-toe players ;_;?

7 Os = OOOOOOO
7 Xs = XXXXXXXX
8 Os = OOOOOOOO
8 Xs = XXXXXXXXX

I thought the 7 O's rule was just to keep people from typing excessive
"noooooooooooooooo" and what not.

I don't think SEXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX is a big problem.

I think people should be banned for abuse and not some silly ~workaround~ put in place. If this is a workaround <_< >_>.

This forum is for suggestion on how to make this a better web site. Bug and cosmetic problem notices go here as well.

;D And if you must have a suggestion it's to ban people who abuse the forum rather than punish everyone.

Well it's not a bug if it was intentional.

And oooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh noooooo, there are no ways to get around this... what a horrible punishment.

And there were way too many people doing this way back when it was implemented. It would've been really nazi-istic to ban them all.

I say let the msg get out that it was not allowed and then give a cut off date to the Mods. Ban for a day. The mods job to make our lives a better place ;D? Hmm?

The only way I found about about this was when it screwed up one of my posts. Which sucks, because I was never part of the reason it was implemented. So it just shows that idiots out there screw it up for the rest of us.

It might not have been announced so that people wouldn't try to find work arounds to it, but if they're asshats enough to try and find work arounds then they should be banned. How much time was spent recoding PHPbb for this rather than just typing up a message saying you'll get banned if you abuse the forum... :/
