dvd ripping

can anyone tell me about a good dvd ripper? i have a few dvds that would make a good amv but i dont know how to get the video off of them. i tried downloading them but the versions available are poor quality along with subtitles.

i have dvd decrypter and i got the files but i cant do anything more with them. i downloaded smart ripper and it was a .rar and wouldnt work. any other recommendations or what to do with dvd decrypter after i get all the files?

Did you uncompress the .rar archive properly using WinRAR?

ive never heard of such an applicationk, i just getting into this really, i usually just play a game or watch a movie on my computer. thanks for your help.
