My taste in music starts about at early punk (Sex Pistols, Ramones) and ends at speedmetal/trashmetal.
Blackmetal and death metal aren't my style

BTW, can someone actually explain what 'alternative' is to me? It always struck me as either one of those strange generalizations which doesn't exist stylistically, or simply a mis-definition.

Myself, I could say prog-rock, but that carries too much reference to the 70's movement, so instead I'll say:

Any music, but primarily rock, which carries avant-garde elements.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Note: replies to this thread are not representative of the whole site. Lots of people on the .org are not metal fans, but it often seems that it's only the rivetheads that post in the music forum.

Current CD-stack:
Death - Symbolic
Dimension Zero - Silent Night Fever
Saxon - Best of
Death - Human
Iron Maiden - Brave New World
Suffocation - Effigy of the Forgotten
Apocalyptica - Plays Metallica by Four Cellos
Nokturnal Mortum - Lunar Poetry
Dark Tranquillity - Damage Done
Shadows Fall - Somber Eyes To The Sky

The above should be a representative, not an indicative, sample.....and if you're not listening to Agalloch, you're WRONG.

--K
Shin Hatsubai is a Premiere-free studio. Insomni-Ack is habitually worthless.
CHOPWORK - abominations of maceration
skywide, armspread : forward, upward
Coelem - Tenebral Presence single now freely available
