What is this!!!

Shouldn't it be Rurouni Kenshin. That American title sucks. Why the hell is it "samurai". Isn't himura son of a farmer. Last time I checked he wasn't a samurai

Welcome to america..the land of "We Own Everything"...including the rights to change EVERY anime title to EVER cross the borders of this country. (Curse you Cartoon Network for removing the intro to Outlaw Star!)

Yes...in Japan it was called Samurai X, due to the X on his face...they changed the name in america.

somebody is ranting.....if you havnt noticed, Samurai X is a OVA of Rurouni Kenshin so it's directly not involved with Rurouni Kenshin.

It's a whole different time line but uses the name from the RK series.

Kenshin Himura is a son of a farmer who died from a cholera outbreak and was then put into slavery until Hiko saved them when Shinta (kenshin) slave caravan was attacked by bandits.

He's more of a Hitokiri so I don't know the reason behind the name Samurai (I'm not that knowledgable behind the Samurai so maybe someone who is can provide some info on that). But the "X" refers to his X shaped scar which is much of the basis of the OVA.

As for the Last Samurai, that isn't a parody of Samurai X and never was to be. It's a whole different timeline of that Samurai X took place.

I still have to see it....havnt got around to it but i really want to.

Oh, I thought the series (TV) was samurai x too! and that last samurai -thingy. I didnt refer it to RK in any way. I just think it's pathetic. Well... I should see it first. But Cruise wearing samurai outfit??? Muahahahaha

yeah, I thought Cruise wouldn't be a good Samurai but from what I've heard, he was good at it.

That "X". I'm sure almost everyone think it refers to that scar. But couldn't it refer to Kenshin himself. He is anonymoys wanderer, isn't he?
