But hey, at least registration and autograph lines will be short...

I thought this year it was more Ultra-Man than J-rock.......no love for the animated exports?
Let me know if it was any good Rich....just outta morbid curiousity. Good luck if you have that amv panel ^_~ Talk about all the famous Ohio amv makers.

Okay, got off the phone with the guy who was supposed to be hosting the AMV panel.
I say supposed because there apparently isn't one. It doesn't appear anywhere on the schedule, which means unless someone on staff runs up to him and says "Hey, you wanna do that panel?" there isn't going to be one.
Feh.
Well, that pretty much seals it for me. I'm not going Friday at all unless I get a call about the fan parody dubbing workshop, which also may not happen. I'll be there briefly Saturday morning and again late night for Hell, but I'm not getting a good vibe so far from this con.

Rich, last year I showed up for a drawing panel that was supposed to be held and the girl who was running it said she still didn't know if they were having it despite her bringing stuff for the attendees to use.
It turns out they kinda walk in and put another panle in there and just gave the "oh well" treatment. That was last year and it doesn't look like much changed from last year in terms of planning. They have been called the irresponsible con for a reason.
On of the only reasons left to go (for me) was to see Uncle Milo again since I have gotten to know him better since I met him last year. You remember don't you Richather? I felt like I was standing next to a building ^_~ They just kind of ignored him this year and he isn't going. This is their 4th con and I believe he was invited last two years. If anything would have swayed me, that actually would have been it since he lives in Southern California and that's just about as far you can get from Ohio and still be in the Continental US besides Alaska.
Despite some other personal reasons, I really didn't want to see this con fail. It was kinda convenient having one practically in my backyard in terms of anime cons. Columbus has some nice facilities and places to grow. Downtown is slowly being flushed down the crapper, but the Greater Columbus convention center isn't the only game in town. It would be nice to have an Otakon close enough I wouldn't have to front the $700 a night hotel room cost
Sadly, it looks like that may never happen.
Someone tell me if any of the AMVs are good! Since it's 2004, they should be part of the new crop!
