Windows Movie Maker 2 Help

Post by greenjinjo » Thu Jan 08, 2004 12:24 am

*Sighs* Yes I'm using WMM. I know, that's my first problem.

But anyway, the last time I went to actually make/export my video (I create the video often to see what it looks like in Windows Media Player) it gave me an error. I've never gotten this error before. It says (paraphrased):

WMM2 cannot create the video... Please check the following three things:

1) Make sure you have enough hard drive space.
It's a 50 meg video, I've got 10 gigs free on the drive

2) Make sure your sources files are still available.
Yeah, they're there

3) Make sure the destination directory is still there.
Also still there

I really need help with this, I'm not sure what's wrong with it, like I said I've never gotten the error before and I'm not sure why it's giving it to me now, and it's pretty important I can export my video

Thanks in advance.

Alright, so I did some digging around on the internet and I think I've determined it has to do with the video being too complex. But here's the problem...

The way I make AMVs is I take crappy footage first, usually fansubbed, and put those scenes in the video. Then once a segment is done, I go to VDub and get the scenes I need. It's time consuming but it works. Anyway, I do this cycle quite often, so after about 10 sec of fansub I'll replace it with DVD footage, then I'll make the next 10 sec with fansub and then replace that with DVD and so on.

Well I got to about the 3:45 mark in my video, the last 10 or so second are fansubbed garbage, the rest before it is all DV. I export this video to see how it looks, it exports fine. I then replace that fansub with the DV footage and export that, but that's when it gives me the error. There are no more scenes than there were with the fansub, I just simply replaced the one with the other, and it's giving me this error. I preview the movie in WMM2 and every scene is fine, it just won't export.

Any help anyone can give would be greatly appriciated!
