Try this out for a few days:

l33t Replacements!

j00 already do amv.Org -> the 'Org

Try this for a few days and see if people actually notice:
When the text is not all caps, in a quote, code, URL or tag:

replace leet -> l33t
replace woot -> w00t
replace god -> Phade

and add "The" plus capital first letter to special amv authors (based on sentence mechanics - you know how to do it)
example: ermac -> The ErMaC; koop -> The Koopsikeva
vicbond -> The VicBond007; AD/mj = AbsoluteDestiny, MexicanJunior
and danielwang -> The Village Idiot*

*I'm getting enough of that from the members already!!!!! XD

SPEL CHEK PHPBB MOD

Oh - with .net there's a way to feed the sentence posting into a special Office International CorrectSpell engine. You're using PHP though, there is a open source Spell Check engine on Sourceforge but it won't learn new words automatically, you can still update the dictionary manually though.

Now! Get rid of Edit Button Whining by making people preview their post (submit = preview) when their spelling sucks! When they click Preview, or are automatically redirected to Preview to more than 30% bad words, they get:

My <a title="Correct: 'Spelling'">speling</a> sucks.

Hover over the word in red :)
don't forget to add "Ignore Once", "Ignore All", "Add to Dictonary",
and "Explain" for Those People.

This could be a phpBB Mod!

I'm actually implementing something like this, although I take "censorship" a bit further.
