Any word yet on Sugoicon Finalists and Winners?

Postby DarkSchneider » Tue Nov 25, 2003 9:52 pm

Well, as the subject says...

I didn't go to the con, but I wanted to find out about the AMV contest. Did anyone go? and if they did, do they know the list of finalists in the contest and who won? And if they do, could they let us all know? Thanks.

Go on.....say Osuwari! I want it! ^_^

What about the other videos that were in the contest?

Does anyone have the list of the finalists, the videos that made it into the contest?

It was only an hour long contest. I felt the contest got better as the hour went along. It was also in an interesting order, an actoin video, a drama video, then a comedy video in that order all the way to the end.

I didn't think it was that bad, I liked it better than last years contest. At the Saturday showing, there were all of 10 people in the room at the start of the contest. It filled out pretty well by the end. But what can you xpect for 11 AM ? ;)

I do have some problems with the organization of the con this year. I felt the overall theme from the staff seemed to be Apathy. Sad, I don't know if they had some head staff changes or what. It was in the convention center, loved the space. Well, I should go write a con report. in it's own thread...I'll just put it on the board instead of my journal so it's easier to find.

^_^ oops

You know, I was about to cry when there was 5 minutes left and my video hadn't played yet....I guess if I had seen a ballot and known it was the very last one I could have avoided that sinking feeling.

If you are asking if your Small things video played, it did. As for the rest I could remember a video if someone asked about it specifically, but not all of them off the top of my head.

That one played there?

Yeah, I guess you could say that. I guess now for that video, that makes it two out of three cons. I just wanted to see if any of my videos made it into the cons I entered. Both of my videos made it into Nekocon's AMV contest, and from what you're saying Misty, it seems Anime's Greatest Hits and Misses made it into Sugoicon's AMV contest. For "We could be Heroes" I now know, it made it into Nekocon, but for the above video, it made it into two cons.
Now misty, I gotta ask, what was the reaction when they saw that video, I'm expecting that the answer is, "Once the first Inuyasha scene came on, thats when they started laughin." Did it go something like that? It was the same way at Nekocon. Sorry, I just have to ask.

Go on.....Say Osuwari! I want it!

you're welcome.

Well, like I said, all the comedy videos were well recieved. I only went to the Saturday showing which was probably way less attended than Friday night. To tell you the truth, hardly anyone clapped at my video it seemed and I was not expecting to win anything. I would like to think they were all blown away and stunned   but.....rback to reality....the Saturday contest seemed lukewarm. If I recall though, they liked it when people got hit in your video....and I believe that happened a lot....

Alright then,

That was the first negative comment I got, but it's my first time with the comedy genre. Besides I was expecting mixed reviews anyway.
