please help

Post by The Ninja Monkey » Sun Nov 23, 2003 2:18 pm

I have two questions: 1) How do I rip the video from a cd or dvd? 2) How do I take the audio from a clip so I can put music to it without the background noise? Oh yeah, I'm sorry but I have Windows Movie Maker 2.

Ok, I figured out how to take out the background noise, but I still can't rip the footage. Is there a program I need?

I recommend reading up on this guide to learn how to rip DVDs.

Since you're using WMM2 as your editing program, you'll most likely have to convert your dvd footage (the VOBs) into editable avi files. I suggest only going through the "Ripping DVDs" portion of the guide. Right before you get to the step called "Using the DVDs", post here again, and I'll try to provide some assistance on how to convert your vob files. If you wanna try and convert the vobs yourself, skip down to "Method 1: Creating Clips for Source Footage". You will also need to learn how to use Avisynth in order to use that method of conversion..

Oh, and for future reference, you probably should've created two threads. One in here, Audio Help, and another in General Video. This is because you're asking about an audio problem (the background noise), and you're also asking about something related to video (ripping dvds).
