Actually, the Athalon 64 is x86-64. In other words it is completely compatable with all existing 32 bit software. In fact, a prototype chip that was tested on the T-Break forums got 20k at stock speeds.

And as far as motherboards are concerned, I doub the lack of motherboards is going to make that much of a difference considering the ones that there currently are will get the job done quite nicely.
