Strange exporting problem in Premiere 6.5

Post by hawrbarmsn » Thu Sep 18, 2003 4:27 pm

This problem just suddenly popped up. I have no idea how or why. It's like this:

Every time I export a project, the video side "hangs", so to speak. The audio plays just fine, but the video is only a stillframe of the very first frame in the project (sometimes it's two ... hardly makes a difference, though).
As I said, I have no idea why this is happening. I don't know if I accidently tampered with the wrong setting or if the program just spontaneously started acting weird, but it's there, and I don't know how to get rid of it.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks for your time.

Which codec do you use to export your video ?
What settings ?
Do the previews work well ?

It doesn't matter which codec I use, it hangs in all of them. I tried different kind of .mpeg encoding too. Even raw .avi was unsuccessful.

It's really bothering me. :?

*bump*

Is there really no one, who can tell me what the problem is?

Oh, and the previews work just fine. That's the weird part.

That's weird... one of the comps at work does that too, and I have no clue why either...

I don't think its Primiere itself - I had that happen a few times when it seemed to not respond to any key frames being present ( the main first frame acted like it was stuck! )
All I did was get a larger segment and it worked fine.

I never went back to figure out what had happened but I kept the clip and noted at what frame caused the problem ^^ (( Xvid to RAW ))

Hmm, I've tested it on quite a few clips so far ... same result. As you say, the first frame acts as if it's stuck.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I'm trying to use clips with a framerate of 23,976 fps ... however, I also tested it with some files, which I have successfully edited in Premiere before. They didn't work either.

This truly is a mystery ... :?

hmmm . unless there are locations on the web that "discribe" what the "code's" are for Video Next Line Return like they use in TV Horizontal Sync's and Audio start and stop's plus what the Vertical Code is for "retrace to top"; there is no way I'll be able to desypher this Video and what the error could possibly be! ~_~
<<< TV Tech Referance used to explain SYNC referancing codes >>>

Anotherwords; I'd need the entire AVI structure to deturman what is going on here!

There is no structure right now. As I said, it doesn't matter what clips I use or in which order I use them. Nor does the codec or the file format matter. Premiere produces a preview just fine, but the actual exporting ends up as being a stillpicture (the first frame) with whatever sound I chose for it. It doesn't matter which format I export the video to, or which codec I use.

Here's a question: How do I remove every single trace of Premiere on my computer? Maybe a re-install will do the trick (it didn't do this in the beginning.).
