Shaman King on Fox query

I saw an ep of Shaman King on Fox this Saturday when it happened to be on TV at work (I wasn't hiding in the back room watching Saturday Morning stuff, I swear!!). It looked interesting, but...

Well, the dub annoyed me, but aside from that, the BGM sounded so cheesy and some of the sound effects were wierd. I dunno how to really describe it better than that, but my question is: is this series a victim of Fox editting in terms of the BGM and sound effects, or is that the way it's supposed to be?

It's just that stupid normally, networks like fox and such get can't edit the original music in an anime, the same goes for the companies that license it for U.S. distrobution, however those companies do make the dub, so if you disklike the music it's the original company in japans' fault but if you dislike the dub and short sound effects then blame it on whoever licened it for the U.S.
