Evangelion references from Gainax's anime series.

It seems like most of the anime created by Gainax after Evangelion has LOTS of references from Eva. Think you could name most of them? 8)

Ahg! I'm trying to think of any I might have seen in FLCL, but it was all just too darn crazy. I would love to hear if there were any references to Eva, though.

Yeah.

FLCL does that all over the place....

....along with references to Gundam, Initial D, and a few other things. See if you can find those.

Generally, all studios that have a distinctive style or creative history tend to be self-referential. Gainax ain't an exception here.

Well, I can't remember which episode of Kare Kano it was, but I saw a sign that if translated said "Caution! Eva Lift!"

Of course, I think that they used some footage of Tokyo-3 for some city scenes
"I've spent the last ten years of my life defending my country, I've sacrificed for it, fought for it, and bled for it, now it's time I got something back, so please just respect me and my fellow Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines as we continue to do this job."

I think in the first or second episode of Kare Kano it shows miyazaki rising out of the ground like an Eva.

also in the episode where tsubasa comes in there are alot of eva battle sounds used when yukina and tsubasa were fighting.

I noticed something. Suguru Misato from Mahoromatic looks like Shinji Ikari with glasses. Plus the last name gives it away as well.

But so does Keitaro, and that's an entirely different side of anime-dom. "Nondescript guy with dark hair" = "this is supposed to be you, average fanboy."
