Alright Ive been wondering this for quite sometime now. Whats up with jpop'ers in anime openings/endings. The songs they do, are they written specifically for the anime, or are they written before and then put in the anime? SOme examples i guess would have to be Inu Yasha.. like Do as infinity's fukari mori, hitomi's i am. Im sure there are a lot more out there, just not really sure.
If still are not sure what im talking about.. ayumi doing the iy movie with no more words. was that written for the iy movie?

There's some of both. For example, Sailor Moon's theme song is very obviously written for the anime.
However, take for example, the end themes from Full Moon wo Sagashite. They're by a group called "Changin' My Life", and as far as I know, those songs were released on their album before the show came out. (Myself, Eternal Snow, Smile, New Future, etc...)

Gainax asked The Pillows if they could use their songs, the Pillows said "HOLY CRAP YES!!"Garylisk wrote:Hey, did The Pillows write all that music specifically for FLCL, or did FLCL use their music?
They'd previously had a song on the soundtrack to Love and Pop and their record label is King Records so arranging contracts was easy
