Tenchi Muyo question.
This might just be a rumor, but I thought I heard somewhere that Ayeka was Tenchi's aunt. Does anyone know if this is true?

Half brother. Remember, Yosho and Aeka share a father, but not a mother. Yosho's mother is an Earthling, Funaho. Aeka's mother is a Juraian, Misaki. I doubt even the Juraian's allow full siblings to marry.MistyCaldwell wrote: But if Juraians can marry your bro, I guess it's no big deal with your nephew

And if you want some really messed up relationship thoughts, think about this one... In the True Tenchi Novels by Tenchi creator Masaki Kajishima, there's a section that is about Yosho's time on planet Jurai as a child. In this section, it's revealed that in his adolescense, Yosho had fallen in love with Misaki, his fathers other wife. Now wouldn't THAT be a confusing marriage? Azusa would be Yosho's father AND brother in-law...in-law

Hmm... father and brother in law eh? think when they said "jurai" they really meant "ohio" ?
****should I mention there may be spoilers in this thread?*****
Yes, I knew Yosho was a half brother and that (in the OVA) was one of his reasons for leaving Jurai. Because of prejudice with his mixed ethnicity at the time he lived there.
It'd be great if the 3rd OVA would shed some more light on the Juraian home world and background of the mothers (one who is from earth..how'd that happen?) so lazy me wouldn't have to hunt up bound manga or graphic novels.
I prefer the OVA story over Universe. The Washu/Ryoko relationship is just too cute ^.^

I know the I'm my own grandpa song to, i think my fifth grade teacher wrote it. His name is Dr. Vernot. i forget what his first name was. he used to right abunch of songs and he would bring his guitar into class and we would sing the songs. One time we went to camp and he made our class sing around the campfire in front of the whole school. it was fun though.

Actually, Tenchi was an anime before it was a manga. The manga, written by Hitoshi Okuda, takes plaec after OVA episode 6, and brancecs off into it's own timeline, seperate from the later events of the OVA.
If you want more info on Yosho, Funaho, Misaki, Azusa, Seto, Kagato, Ryoko, Washu, and much much much more stuff, go to the following URL.
http://homepage2.nifty.com/tatsumingo/index_e.html
There, you can find translations, summaries, and images from the "True Tenchi Muyo" novels (ALso translated by some as "The World of Tenchi Muyo" novels.), written by Masaki Kajishima (Original creator), and Yousuke Kuroda (Original OVA scriptwriter).
If you read all the info on the page, I garuntee you'll be a much bigger Tenchi fan than you were before you read it.
Just keep in mind that it's NOT fanfiction or anything like that. It's actually TRUE OVA CONTENT. The stuff written there is very real as far as the OVA world is concerned.
Also, keep in mind that the guy who translated this stuff to English is Japanese, and learning english. It would be like one of us that is aspiring to learn Japanese translating/summarizing a novel from here into Japanese.
In other words, his grammar/spelling aren't always the greatest, but you can understand him just fine. And as far as I am concerned, he is an awesome guy for doing that for English speaking fans everywhere.
