Banner Rotator?
Is there an available banner rotator to randomly display the banners for a-m-v.org (like the one at the top of the pages)?

Here is a random image JavaScript. I'm not sure if it's what Phade uses, but it works just the same.

It's very simple. The code has step by step instruction on how it is done. All you really need to do is change these lines:
Change the #.gif to your file name of the pictures you want to be rotated. It's not limited to just 4, follow the trend. To continue it would be something like this.
Code: Select all
theImages[0] = '1.gif'
theImages[1] = '2.gif'
theImages[2] = '3.gif'
theImages[3] = '4.gif'
Code: Select all
theImages[5] = '4.gif'
theImages[6] = '5.gif'

I'm looking to not have to change the source every time a new banner is accepted. The rotator that has been suggested requires that each new banner be added to the source.
I realise that the change is easy to make, but I don't want to have check for new banners on a regular basis.

Oh, I see what you are talking about. That involves some scripting to my knowledge, and I've got no idea there.

as long as we're on the subject of banners, how can i upload mine to the site? I didn't see anything in the FAQ and i looked around the forums but i didn't see anything. If i'm missed it, could someone point me in the right direction?
oh, and what are the rules for the banners, like if they need official logos, what the dimentions are supposed to be and stuff like that.
i'd post them on my message here for any reviews but i don't have a site to put them on and link to and i don't know how to just stick them here. info like that would be cool too. thanks

hey, just so you know, i posted my prospective banners on my profile page as my pic. they're rotated 90 deg. to fit, but you should get the idea. now i just need to find a good avatar and a *real* pic to stick in there.
