The Last AMV Drive-In Trailer Contest 2025: An AMV Trailer Contest
So I'm wanting to try a new kind of contest specifically for AMV Trailers, and I would love to see what the amv editors out there can either make or have already that they want to show. I don't know how this will turn out, so im hoping to get a good turn out for a first time contest. All the information is down below, and of course drop a reply for more questions if you got them.
Description: This is a contest solely for AMV Trailers and AMV Trailers only. The purpose of this contest is to highlight the creativity of editors and their talent for making AMV trailers, remaking trailers, or making their own film trailers. Our judges will pick the top three best films and also have their own choice of which ones they liked the most.
The Judges:
ZeonicFreak
Legato2400
Rider4Z
EverAqua
Mycathatesyou69
Submission rules:
- Freshness Rule: For this first contest, I'll accept content going back to January 1st of 2024. If you’ve made a trailer between now and that date, it's fair game.
- Quality of the files must be above 640x480, depending on the quality of the anime you are using. Will accept .mkv and .mp4 formats. Keep file sizes under 1GB.
- You can use any video source. All animation is allowed, and so is live action. If you want to recreate a movie trailer from the original film, be my guest, we'd love to see it! If you want to make your own movie trailer shot-on-video/camera, that is allowed.
- Using AI isn’t allowed to do all the work for you. You can use AI as a tool to help you make your video better in terms of audio/video techniques to help the quality. Stuff like seeing 15 fingers on one hand and 5 extra body parts ain’t gonna fly in this contest.
- You can submit up to Two Trailers Max. Pick your best ones and submit them. I’d rather have you pick a trailer video that you think didn’t do well in other contests in the past and put those in this contest, but the choice is yours.
- Time Limit for a video shouldn’t exceed 4 minutes. I don’t have a minimum for time but if you can somehow tell a whole movie story in 10 seconds then be my guest.
- File names must be labeled as “Editor Name - Video Title” when you submit your video on our Google link provided. Filling out the form should be straight forward in getting us your videos.
Awards:
The judges will pick the top three videos in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. First place will be our Best in Show for the contest.
We will also be doing Judges Choice where each of our Judges picks the video they liked the most. Judges will have their own custom titles to their judges' choice for their awards. A judges choice could potentially be in the top 3 videos.
Contest Deadline / Announcement of Winners:
Contest will officially open up July 14th and submissions will close August 25th, 2025 at 11:55 pm. Judging will start the following day. The announcement of our winners/judges choice will be on September 19th, 2025.
