For those of you who want to draw...

Post by Lone Wolf » Sun Mar 16, 2003 12:17 am

I found these websites using Google search engine. I've never really drawn well, but thanks to this guide, I'm drawing incredible faces!

...and a list of some others:

(note: scroll down to the "educational" portion for the links)

If you have any other websites that you think are great, please don't hesitate to post the links.

They have some really good how-to books. I searched for weeks trying to find volume one and eventually one of the stores got it in. Because of my searching, every Waldenbooks within a 15 mile radius has the first half of the series. Anyways they are pretty good and I recommend them to anyone wanting to learn how to draw manga style.

I don't know, I kind of like to use my own style and let it develop from my experience. My style has changed a lot (For the better), no thanks to how to draw guides.

Even so, those books are meant to be a guide, not a law. There's tons of useful information for manga/nonmanga-style artists in them.
I like bugging people. Deal with it.

Yeah unlike those "How to Draw your Favorite Comic Book Hero" these books discuss more on the lines of the most common aspects in manga so you can create your own styles. Some of the books in the series are geared toward the pros that intend to perhaps make money off of it by showing how to apply tones and how to use certain ink pen tips among other things. If they didn't cost 17 dollars a pop I would have most of them...

I've seen those tutorials before, they are identical to some I saw at a different site several years ago.
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab
